Is my bathroom renovation deductible?

APIA Ask An Expert
We are completely refitting the bathroom in our rental property, including floors, walls, ceiling and all the internal fittings. We are also installing
an instant hot water bottled gas system. Is this tax deductible, or is it regarded as part of the house, which I have never deducted?

APIA Ask An Expert

It appears that you are improving the asset beyond the condition of when you purchased it, if that is the case then it is more than likely going to
be capital and not tax deductible.
